This lichen grows on steep vertical rock walls, usually granitic in origin. Distinct imperfect circular form, raised edges, off-white color and attached to the rock by central spot (umbel). Discrete growth forms crowded together. Can grow to diameter of eight inches, but usually in the range of three inch diameter.
